Welcome to Live With Spirit. It's it's an exciting time for you, if you are thinking about yoga teacher training. It's an honor to be a yoga teacher and I love to share this experience with new yogi's. 

 

In 10 months you can be certified Yoga teacher. How exciting is that  ? You may start our program anytime and just complete the required 10 months.

Program Details:

 

The Live With Spirit Yoga Teacher Training program was created 10 years ago based on our desire to help others become masterful yoga teachers, and grow in their own practice.  I realized there was a need in the community for yoga teacher training programs that offered the students lots of opportunities to practice teach and learn in small class settings.

 

The Live With Spirit 200 hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher Training program will:

 

• Give you the skills you need to safely and competently guide others in their practice

• Give you an in-depth understanding of the business of yoga

• Give you a solid base in anatomy and you will learn proper alignment and teaching skills based on the most up to date knowledge.

• Give you the ability to guide and influence others 

• Start anytime, the course is ongoing. You must complete 10 weekends before graduating, hand in all assignments and complete 20 classes.

Each course comes with its own course manual, there will be some at-home assignments, and attendance at 20 yoga classes is required before the final graduation certificate.  Registration fees include 20 classes that must be completed before graduation.

We are a Yoga Alliance Registered School (RYT 200) and a Canadian Yoga Alliance Registered School (CYA 200)

Course Fees are tax-deductible we are a registered College.

1. In-depth study of postures

Next Session: September 14th  and 15th.

​

• Postures are taught based on sound alignment principles.

• We review and practice the popular poses and dive into the differences in alignment in the different styles of yoga.

• Expect to have many aha moments in your own practice

• Learn why so many yoga injuries are occurring and how to prevent this.

• This weekend will change and enhance your current practice.

2. Anatomy for Yoga Teachers

Next Session: October 5th and 6th 

​​

•  Learn how to the body works and how yoga affects the  body,

•  Review postures by muscles groups and see how small shifts in movements can create deeper and safer postures.

•  Yoga anatomy is the beginning of understanding the physical benefits of yoga.

​

3. Hatha Yoga Sequencing

Next Session: November 2nd and 3rd

 

Learn to create well-designed Hatha yoga classes.

• Hatha yoga is the basis for all other styles of yoga.

• Incorporate the language of yoga into your classes

• Class planning and sequencing is the focus of this weekend.

4. Power/Vinyasa Yoga Sequencing

Next Session: December 7th and 8th

 

• Learn the history and benefits of this popular style of yoga.

•  How to create flow classes for all Levels

• Study and breakdown Sun Salutation A & B

• Class planning and sequencing is the focus of this weekend.

2025

 

5. Teaching Methodology 

Next Session: January 4th and 5th

• Corrections/assists

• How to safely assist or adjust students

• Using Props

• Adapting Postures for older or less mobile adults

• Respecting injuries – trusting your bodies inner wisdom.

• Cuing 

 

6. The Energy System, Pranayama, Chanting and Kosha's

Next Session: February 1st and 2nd

• The body's energy system - Chakra's and Nadi's

• Maya Koshas (layers/sheaths of the self)

• Chanting & Nada Yoga (Yoga of Sound)

• The science of breath/teaching pranayama

• Linking the movement with the breath

 

 

7. Traditional Yoga

Next Session: March 1st and 2nd

 

• Basic Sanskrit for yoga teachers – History of the Sanskrit language

• Use of voice in teaching – 4 hours

• Mantras 

• Chanting 

• Meditation 

 

8. The Philosophy of Yoga

Next Session : April 5th and 6th

​

• The foundations of yoga philosophy - ancient texts including Patanjali's Yoga Sutras - the eight limbs.

• Ethics Yamas (restraints)

• Niyamas (observances)

• Ethics in yogic philosophy

• Yogic lifestyle - yoga as a way of life.

9. Running Your Own Successful Practice / Specialty Markets

Next Session: May 3rd and 4th

​

• How to run a successful yoga business, the "business of yoga" and marketing ideas

• Teaching Practicum

• Working with special groups such as children/seniors or athletes

• Bringing Yoga to your community – Karma.

​

 

10. Advancing Your Students Practice

Next Session : June 7th and 8th

 

• Using props to advance the physical practice.

• Arm Balances - learn how to build strength for these challenging poses

• Incorporating philosophy into your teaching

• Class planning to a final posture

• Living Yoga in a modern world

• Teaching Practicums
